The professional standards day of GRI Real Estate Brokerage sets the tone for the course and provides a thorough review of the NAR Code of Ethics. The Code is the keystone of professionalism, protocol, and best practices for REALTORS®. Additionally, this day examines the ethics complaint and enforcement processes established and implemented by the Texas Association of REALTORS. Further, this section reviews case studies that assess actions and violations in everyday situations. The aim is for students to leave with a deeper understanding of the guidelines they work within.

This course covers an integral part of any successful brokerage, which is coming up with a compensation plan. In this course, our goals are the following learning objectives: Identify and understand the relationship between compensation and profitability for a real estate brokerage.List and understand types of compensation to agents, Compare and analyze compensation programs and profitability, and employ compensation to direct agents’ efforts, e.g. more listings, more sales. Learn to assess the use of bonuses, both year end and signing, identify and debate profit sharing; including buy-ins, construct and share an operating statement for sharing with agents plus construct a sample compensation program for a brokerage.
