2018 Candidates for Vice President

Nominated Candidate for Vice President

Peggy Jones, Broker, SVN-PJP Commercial Brokerage

Peggy is the Managing Director for SVN | PJP Commercial Brokerage with her Broker’s License dating from 2006. Her diversified knowledge of real estate related industries is the result of a unique combination of career and academic education. Peggy began her real estate career after developing 2 RV Parks as a sole woman in business for almost 20 years.  Her development started with $6000 in capital and grew in value to several million, from hard work and great ideas.  She returned to Texas State as a non-traditional student, finished her undergraduate degree and went on to earn a Masters in Geography, aka "Planner".

Peggy was elected in a contested race and served 4 years for Hays and Caldwell Counties on the Edwards Aquifer Authority to stand for property rights along with good stewardship.  She ran with a focus to find common ground between land owners and the District in meeting its goals.  The constituents were then able to resolve their issues and resolve compliance violations. Peggy serves on the current Four Rivers Association Board of Directors and her expertise in commercial real estate has added value to the leadership and this association.

The FRAR Board has adopted a minimum that the executive officers have either become or are in the process of the TRLP, for which, Peggy proudly has this honor.

As far as her volunteer work, it includes her work on the TAR Commercial Committee.  After the first meeting, Peggy was recruited to teach a class she developed as The Flood Blues and taught statewide for CE credit.  It was featured at the most recent TAR Conference in Dallas and will be taught again at the FRAR Headquarters October 10.  Peggy also serves on FRAR Communications Committee writing the Commercial Corner, a column written for the Association Newsletter.  As well, Peggy is a volunteer with CASA of Central Texas, Inc., and local area Chambers of Commerce and has shown commitment in strengthening these communities.

“Our association has worked hard to build unity and I do not want to see it go back to community segregation and operated exclusively by a contingent in New Braunfels.  I appreciate your vote and confidence that I am dedicated to serving ALL members of the region, known as the Four Rivers Association of Realtors.”

“I want to be a part of this organization moving forward as a strong association and I am prepared to take any leadership responsibilities as needed.”

I am a firm believer that to be a good leader, you must lead by example. How can you ask others to volunteer of their time, talents and treasures if you are not leading by example? I believe I have done that throughout my career. So, why am I choosing to run for an office with the Four Rivers Association of REALTORS® after having served in several leadership roles in the past? I believe our Association, FRAR is at a critical stage with the lack of involvement within all the communities that our Association serves. I am part of a TEAM of experienced leaders that have a vision and a passion in which we believe will change the level of involvement in our Association and in our communities. I believe it is critically important to our profession, to our clients and to our communities for our Association to have a much more visible presence in ALL the communities that we serve. Our grassroots foot print in ALL of our communities is critically important and our TEAM has the passion, the vision and a plan that will encourage, motivate and inspire the members of FRAR to become re-energized. The end result will be better for you, your clients, your communities and the professional image of REALTORS®.

Luke 12:34 – Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Jeff has excelled in key leadership positions within the San Antonio-Austin corridor since 1989.  He has gained valuable experience in management, operations, and development that he positively shares.  His diverse experience enables him to partner with a wide variety of people as his background includes affordable and conventional single-family and multifamily housing for both families and seniors.  His experience also includes working through challenging but rewarding partnerships with the Air Force, Navy and Army through the Military Housing and Privatization Initiative (MHPI) in a public-private venture.  The ultimate objective was to demolish deteriorating quarters and provide new on-base housing and lodging for service members and their families through a common vision and a strategic plan.  He understands there are ongoing challenges within our Industry and our Four Rivers Board, and yet he appreciates the opportunity to partner with committed Team members to solve such issues in the best interests of the Association and its Members.
